Keiko Mima

Born in 1971 in Hokkaido Japan, Keiko Mima studied from 1989-90 at Suidobata Art School, T okyo in Japan, and from 1992-86 she did her B.F .A (Painting) from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Kyoto Seika University, Kyoto in Japan. In 1997 she came to Santiniketan and then with her family moved to Pondicherry for her children's education. She is inspired by nature and works from nature directly, sitting for hours together to capture the minutest details of textures on dry leaves or the delicate veins seen on leaves and petals. She has participated in several group shows in India and Japan. She has participated in two men shows, one was in 2008 at the Gallery Modern, Kobe in Japan and the other one in 2009 at the T aj Mount Road in Chennai. She is currently freelancing as an artist in Pondicherry. View Profile


Kirti Chandak

Kirti Chandak was born in Nasik in 1971, and her parents brought the whole family to Pondicherry in 1973 for their education. She graduated from the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education in Pondicherry in 1991, did her B.F .A in painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati Santiniektan 1992 - 97, and her M.F .A. in painting from M.S.U, Baroda 1997-99. She is a recipient of the National Scholarship 1997-99, she was selected for a cultural exchange with Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1999. She was awarded the Late Milinde Kumar Bhade Gold Medal from M.S.University, Baroda for Painting in 1999, got the Junior Fellowship in 2000-2002, The special award from the Bombay Art Society in 2001, and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant for the year 2002-2003. Saravana.D

Saravana.D was born in Pondicherry in 1984. He has a technical qualification of the first level Certificate Course. He was working in a welding workshop and had a passion of art. Thus he joined an art class to learn drawing and painting in 2004. After which he started to make sculptures in the clay medium. Then wanting to shift to a more permanent medium he takes up working with waste iron, since it is cheaper and also because this medium was familiar to him having worked in the welding workshop. He has participated in several shows in Pondicherry, Chennai, Banglore and currently in freelancing in Pondicherry as a metal sculptor. View Profile



Saravanan.P

Based in Cuddalore, Saravanan.P started his carrier as a banner artist, where he ran a commercial studio doing sign boards, portraits, film hoardings for about twenty years. He was exposed to books on art and seeing different shows he slowly got more inclined to pursue pure painting. While painting when the neighbouring children would pile in to see his work, he got inspired by their simplistic and playful ways of looking at life and started adapting to a child's language of looking at reality. There is an element of humour which underlies his way of looking. He has participated in several group shows in Pondicherry. View Profile



Sekar.R

Born in 1961 in Tamilnadu Sekar.R has studied art from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai & Government College of Arts and Crafts Kumbakonam. He is a recipient of the Graphic Research Scholarship from the Lalit Kala Akademi, Delhi; the Painting Merit Scholarship from the Regional Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai; and the Graphic Merit Scholarship from the Regional Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai. His works have a strong graphic quality where the line is the basis and structure of the composition. He has participated in several groups shows and some solo shows. He is currently a lecturer at the Bharathiar Palkalai Koodam in Pondicherry. View Profile
